Jake used to work for Lemon Technologies but left the company to go freelance.  Or he got fired for lackluster performance and attendance.  It depends who you ask.
Since then he mostly hangs around the Nugget's Computer Warehouse cafe to get free coffee from his sister Jane.  Jake feels that a condescending technician is a hired technician, but so far he has no proof to his theory. 

Jake is very gruff and bitter about life, especially when life is dealing with Ms. Taylor or Lemon Tech.  He does not know that Kimberly is Ms. Taylor's daughter.

He plays Final Battle Adventure On-line along with Brisbane and Robert. While it's not known how he handles women in real life (although we know he has little sage advice to give about them), in game he flirts with any skirt wearing pixel girl.

Jake has a small crush on Sofia, but is either too afraid to ask her out and crush his dream reality... or is just plain afraid of her.
