You can really tell a lot about a person by the way they handle stressful situations, but even I'm not sure what Kimberly's reaction to losing her job means. And by the look on his face, neither does Brisbane.

Modern Commentary
Since they haven't worked for a full year, they'll get a good chunk of their withheld tax money back. No point letting the government hold on to it longer.
But also, these are anxiety plans. The point is to direct energy to something. If you end up with a useful plan, that's a bonus. But the goal is to dissipate nervous energy and wear yourself out, then you calm down and come up with a reasonable plan. - Terrence
