Original Commentary

Terrence's original direction for this comic was to show... this man. But, I felt that not showing him just yet added a little suspense that would have been there anyway, more or less (he is a new character, so revealing his face wouldn't have made a difference anyway).

I had originally planned on writing some text in (by hand) on the memo in the first panel, but thought it better to not put any text in (I didn't know who's version of the memo he was reading, not that it would have really mattered, but that's besides the point). More on this on Friday. -Isabel

Modern Commentary
Meet Dan! The instigator of the palace coup that will take over the rest of this storyline.

He's comparing the memos Ms Taylor sent to the ones Brisbane sent.

The original script has Dan listed as "The Duke", and he had one army medal pinned to his suit.

That's got to be a reference to something but I'm drawing a blank here. I wouldn't just add a detail like that in for the sake of adding details...

Speaking of details that didn't make it in, who is Dan talking to? His assistant who never got mentioned again? - Terrence
