I fricking swear... in a past life Brent was a Lounge Guy. No, joking, man. Little guy is a total creep-o. Last week Terrence and were talking about Brent and his relationship with the women in the apartment... I think he honestly sees Kimberly and Sofia as his woman and Brisbane as an evil interloper. Modern Commentary
Kimberly isn't holding Brent by the neck in panel 2. She's supporting the body with her other hand which is hidden by the speach bubble.

The stage instructions in panel 3 are "Brent looks cute". Isabel nailed it.

I don't think we explicitly planned a setup where the boys can't get along with the boys and the girls can't get along with the girls... - Terrence
