That seems excessive, even at the amounts of money that are involved here. I had intended Hippedown to be a place with a high taxes and a high level of government services, and had considered expanding on that in Nicole and Derek where Nicole has expectations about what the government does.

Hippedown isn't the USA, but also I don't want this to be a comic series about tax policy - Terrence
