Yes, this pretty much sums up Lola and Mr. Taylor. Neither of whom are much anything to do with the plot at this point. However, this comic does something very important - it establishes that Kimberly has indeed been doing something. Brisbane has been out looking for Ms. Taylor. Kimberly is back in the office, looking over the paper files, typing some of them up, trying to make sense of things - Terrence Modern Commentary
OCR (optical character recognition) is significantly better now than it was in 2008. You could just scan the documents in as searchable copies, probably.
But re-typing everything means you need to actually look at it, read it, and understand it. I hope she didn't re-type everything. But her goal is to understand the parts of the company that aren't immediately visible.
But also, this is action-for-the-sake-of-action. She needs to do something and this is something, therefore she is doing it.
