Original Commentary
She was originally older, but I digitally removed the age lines after Terrence told me more about her - Isabel
I know I said I wasn't going to add Caleb's manager. Then I had some ideas and here she is. I initially had her putting on her glasses in panel 3, but there was some confusion about that and it didn't get drawn. I'm glad, because this way it's more clear that it's Caleb's error, not hers - Terrence
Modern Commentary
Of course she was originally drawn older. I had named her "Mildred" in the script. For context, that was a top-10 girls name from 1903 to 1926, so your typical Mildred would be elderly.
Anyhow, I like how Caleb's petulance gets across in the first panel.
"Can't tell men from women" was one of Caleb's character traits back in the day. I never really went much anywhere with it because I was just tossing stuff at the wall and seeing what happened; I didn't have much anything clever to say about gender so it fell by the wayside. I perhaps should have just let it be, but it came up again for this retrospective
