Original Commentary

Terrence thought Pat was being a bit harsh on Kimberly in these last two comics... but of course, he could not see the visuals of what happened between them in the Sunday- why Kimberly doesn't like him at all and why he's so pissed off at her.

We don't get to see Kimberly's anti- social self too much... she's a great business person- but she's not very willing to let people become her friends and get close to her- especially if she sees them as a threat in any way. Which definitely says something about her relationship with Brisbane, doesn't it? Oh well, no relationship is perfect... they are happy now and trust each other for the most part, which is what matters. -Isabel

Modern Commentary
So here, seventeen years later, we probably would have had Patrick phrase that differently in the first panel.

But his assumption is that if Kimberly isn't sexually interested in him personally, it's because she's not interested in any men. He's arrogant that way.

Kimberly doesn't wear a ring at work. Mainly because she doesn't want to have that conversation with her mother. Brisbane is too overjoyed to not have mentioned it to his friends though... - Terrence
