It took me forever to track down the Final Battle Adventure Knight (FBAO's mascot) psd file... I ended up having to do a search for all the psd files on my computer for it- and of course it was near the end... but it got done. -Isabel

Modern Commentary
That FBAO knight is their mascot and the center of their branding. He's also level 20. Now that the level cap goes up to 300, he hasn't been relevant in years. But still, he's what people remember from the game so he keeps showing up on the merchandise - Terrence

Original Commentary

When I design outfits for the girls, I generally try and do a little research first to get a general idea of what young women are wearing today (not only am I out of touch, but I'm definitely outside the realm of "young woman", two strikes against me). I tend to hit department store on-line sites to see what's up (for the most part I look at Target's site... sometimes I find things I might like for myself- but that's only sometimes). I did try looking around for something for Jane to wear on-line, but wasn't too thrilled with what I found, so I came up with something on the fly. Hope it's not too last season (or last century either). -Isabel

Modern Commentary
Jane has a key to Robert's place and let herself in. Robert does not have a key to Jane's place - Terrence

Original Commentary

I'm sure he might have shown aggression before, but this is the most recent time in my recent memory that we've seen Robert this mad about something.

I get the feeling the two of them go out a lot of places but very rarely "go out"...hence Jane's annoyance at his casual attire. Fancy meals should be eaten while one looks fancy... or is at least not in the same shirt one went to work in. -Isabel

Modern Commentary
As an IT guy who can get task-fixated, I feel called out by this. I'm not this bad, but I can get focused on wanting to Finish The Thing, whether or not it needs finishing right now - Terrence

Original Commentary

For some reason, I could have sworn panel two's back ground was facing the same was as panel one's. I had drawn no blank poster or calendar in it's background. So I had to track down one of the larger versions from a previous comic and copied and pasted it in. Considering Robert's geekish macho rant covered up most of it anyway, I doubt anyone would have noticed if I hadn't brought it up. -Isabel

Modern Commentary
I don't see Robert and Jane as dinner-reservation people. Jane is going a bit outside of her comfort zone, going somewhere fancier than she and Robert normally do, in part because they don't get to do this often and she mistakenly thinks that going somewhere fancier means they'll have a better time.

That and "we have to get there in time for our dinner reservations" is a classic sitcom trope that we've absorbed and stolen and it's a bit better than "Applebees closes at 10 so we need to leave in an hour or two" - Terrence

Realization

Original Commentary

I'm a computer technician. Common sense goes out the window when you're dealing with your own equipment. When I fix my own stuff, I click away error messages without reading them. I assume the cables are connected properly. I restart the machine a couple times in the hope that will fix things. It takes a bit of effort to actually approach the problem properly - Terrence

Modern Commentary
Isolate components to find out where the point-of-failure is. That's what my father, as an electrician, taught me. If a lamp won't turn on, you make sure it's plugged in and the bulb is good before you rewire the outlet... - Terrence

Original Commentary

If you have a computer with no video, the first thing you want to do is listen for beeps when it starts up. A machine will normally beep once or twice on POST. Anything more than that is a diagnostic code and usually indicates a motherboard or memory problem. You'll also want to hit the caps lock key a few times and see if the keyboard lights respond. If they do, then the computer isn't totally frozen and it may be a video issue - Terrence

Modern Commentary
Do computers still beep on startup? Did I turn that off on my computers long ago? I mean, shutting them down doesn't even properly shut them down any more... - Terrence

Original Commentary

The comic has jumped... it's now been a bit since Robert and Jane had their fight. These time jumps are one of the few clues in trying to figure out which one of us is writing which arc. I am a lot more likely to do time jumps than Terrence, although he is pushing himself into them more, as we saw with "The Troublesome Troubles of Kimberly Taylor-Adams". So maybe it's not a sure fire way of telling who's writing what, but I do know what method is: the one where I tell you who write's it. -Isabel

Modern Commentary
Are they at a restaurant or does Sandra have a really fancy patio? It could go either way. The important thing is brunch. - Terrence
