This is one of the first jokes we came up with in this arc - that it would only eat carrot-and-tuna sandwiches cut diagonally. Now, mind you it did steal a bunch of carrots a week or so ago. That's because it was really hungry then. Now, it's only kinda hungry - Terrence

We write a lot of things like that. Come up with a good payoff and figure out how to get there.

About half the time, I end up cutting the foundational joke. Either it doesn't quite fit where we ended up or we come up with a better payoff.

That's how writing goes. Have to kill your darlings sometimes. Can't always just keep things for sentimentality.- Terrence
